CODE OF CONDUCT

We believe that BrewFest should be enjoyed by all attendees. As such, we are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all. We invite all attendees to help us realize a safe and positive event experience for everyone.

REFUNDS

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No refunds or exchanges

BrewFest Organizer accepts no responsibility, financial or otherwise, and does not provide refunds, for event cancellation, delay or interruption because of inclement weather.

RIGHT TO USE YOUR NAME, VOICE, IMAGE & LIKENESS

By using this ticket, Holder grants BrewFest Organizer and its affiliates and licensees the irrevocable, transferable, perpetual right and license to record, publish, print, display and use (by photograph, film, tape, aural devices and any other method or device) the Holder’s name, voice, image and likeness while at BrewFest (the “Recordings”), and to use such Recordings for any and all purposes, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised.

ASSUMPTION OF ALL RISKS

WHILE ATTENDING THE FESTIVAL, Holder voluntarily assumes all risks, hazards and dangers incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior to, during, or after the event, including but not limited to those of communicable disease. Each Holder voluntarily waives all claims against the BrewFest Organizer, ticket issuer, event sponsors or venue owner. Holder voluntarily agrees that the BrewFest Organizer, and its officers, directors, affiliates, employees and agents acting by and through it, are expressly released by Holder from any claim incidental to the event or purpose for which the ticket is issued. Holder agrees to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Waitsburg BrewFest Organizer, the City of Waitsburg, and their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, actions and costs which might arise out of Holder’s participation in BrewFest, even though such claims, demands, actions and costs may have been caused by the negligence of BrewFest Organizer, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents and representatives. BrewFest Organizer is not responsible for lost or stolen articles at the event for which this ticket grants admission.

Waitsburg Brewfest Alcoholic Drink Policy

General regulations

  • This is a family friendly beer tasting exhibition sponsored by the Waitsburg Commercial Club, a nonprofit organization under a Special Occasion License from the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB). 

  • All minors must be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Unattended minors will be reported to event staff and their parents.

  • Attendees must follow all applicable Washington State liquor laws and regulations.

  • The sale, service, and consumption of alcohol must be confined to the designated tasting area.

  • Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the event.

  • Management and event staff reserve the right to refuse service to any individual at any time.

Designated area: 

  • In case of poor weather: the breweries, stage, and vendors are set up in the Don Thomas Building. The entry door will be fully open for access to and from the outdoor designated area.

  • Throughout the Designated areas there will be kids craft tables, board games, tug of war, potato sack races, face painting, and a photo booth. 

  • The ticket booth will be located outside next to the Don Thomas Building. 

  • Food is located at the Cook Shack with ordering and pickup at the window. Food also offered by vendors in the Don Thomas Building.

  • Portable Restroom located next to the cook shack. 

  • Picnic tables will be available throughout the designated area for eating, mingling with other participants, as well as potato sack races, tug of war, and giant sized board games. 

  • All sales, service, and consumption of alcohol will occur within the designated, enclosed area. 

Service restrictions

  • No free alcohol: Alcohol will not be provided to the public free of charge. 

  • Sales to go: Waitsburg Brewfest does not provide Sales to go 

Minor Guest Policies (Under 21)

  • Adult Supervision Required: All minors must be actively supervised by a parent or guardian. Please do not leave minors at kids craft tables or other activities; an adult from your party must be present at every table with a minor.

  • No Alcohol Zones: Minors are not permitted in any areas designated for alcohol tasting or consumption. Clear barriers and signage will be in place to define these zones.

  • Code of Conduct: For the safety of everyone, minors are expected to follow event rules. Prohibited behavior includes, but is not limited to, running, horseplay, climbing, or yelling. Disruptive behavior may result in the party being asked to leave the event.

  • Restrooms: In layouts where restrooms are located within alcohol-restricted areas, minors must be escorted by an adult to and from the facilities. 

  • Non-alcoholic beverages 

  • Children will be provided with a 3 stub tear off wrist band for non-alcoholic beverages, such as soda.

  • Minor found to have consumed alcohol - Immediate Actions to Take – (Notify Event Coordinator)

  1. Stop the Consumption of the alcohol

  2. Assess the Minor's Condition: Determine if the minor is visibly intoxicated or in any immediate danger. 

  3. Remove the Minor from Alcohol: Take the minor to a safe, private area away from further access to alcohol. 

  4. Do Not Allow the Minor to Leave Alone: If the minor is intoxicated, do not permit them to drive or leave the event alone. 

  5. Contact the Authorities: You must report the incident to the police or the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB). 

  6. Contact Emergency Services if Necessary: If the minor appears ill or is suffering from alcohol poisoning, call for immediate medical help.

  7. Document the Incident 

Staff and beer pouring guidelines

  • Who can pour: The following individuals may pour samples:

    • Representatives of the breweries participating in the tasting event

  • No drinking on duty: Any volunteer or employee working at the event, including brewery representatives, is prohibited from consuming alcohol during the event. 

  • Water Availability: Water will be available to all attendees to promote hydration and to cleanse the palate between beer samples. 

Responsible alcohol service

  • Legal drinking age: All attendees must be 21 years of age or older to consume alcohol. Valid identification, such as a state-issued ID, driver's license, or military ID.

  • ID checks: All staff must check identification to ensure that no one under 21 years of age is served or consumes alcohol. 

    • Identification will be checked at the entry ticket booth as well as by a brewery representative every time a sample is provided to a customer. 

  • Sample limits: The event offers a series of controlled tastings, not unlimited free consumption.

  • Specific limits: Each attendee is provided with 5 tokens one for each sample pour with the purchase of their admission ticket. With the option to purchase additional sample pour tokens.

    • General Admission Pours are limited to 4 ounces each.

    • VIP Admission Pours are limited to 6 ounces each.

  • Intoxicated persons: No person who is visibly or apparently intoxicated will be served alcohol. Servers have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason related to intoxication.

  • Monitor consumption: Staff will monitor all attendees to identify signs of intoxication and take appropriate action if necessary.

    • Staff will follow these guidelines for Adults (Notify Event Coordinator)

  1. Recognize the signs. Intoxication can be identified by slurred speech, clumsy or unsteady movements, loud or obnoxious behavior, or drowsiness.

  2. Stop the Consumption - Immediately stop serving alcohol.

  3. Be firm but respectful. Clearly and calmly state that you can no longer serve them alcohol. A non-accusatory tone is best, as you can cite event policy.

  4. Avoid arguments. Do not engage in a debate with the individual, as this can escalate the situation. 

  5. Offer water. 

  6. Suggest food from one of the vendors

  7. Communicate with their group. If the person is with friends, talk to them discreetly. The group may be able to help convince their friend to stop drinking and get them safely home. 

  8. Contact Emergency Services if Necessary: If the attendee appears ill or is suffering from alcohol poisoning, call for immediate medical help. 

  9. Call for help. If the situation becomes unmanageable or you feel threatened call 9-1-1 and request law enforcement to respond.

  10. Document the Incident

  • Responsible behavior: Disruptive, intoxicated, or illegal behavior will not be tolerated. Attendees who violate this policy may be removed from the event without a refund.

  • No outside alcohol: Attendees are not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages into the event. Any found alcohol will be confiscated.

  • Safe environment: The organizer will ensure a safe and orderly environment and prevent disorderly conduct.

  • Last call: A "last call" for alcoholic beverages will be made 30 minutes before the event concludes. 

  • Safe transportation: We encourage all attendees to arrange for safe transportation home. 

  • Closing time: Alcohol sales, service, or consumption will not be permitted after 4:00 p.m. 

Communication

  • Pre-Event: This policy will be clearly communicated on event tickets, our website, and social media channels.

  • At the Event: This policy will be placed at all entry points and throughout the event space.

  • Questions: For any policy-related questions, please see event staff at the ticket booth.

  • By purchasing a ticket and attending this event, you agree to abide by all rules and regulations outlined above.
